Schwinn Produce Farm Sunflower Engagement Pictures

One of the things that we love most about the couples that we get to work with is getting to know them. Like, really getting to know them, about their families and favorite date nights, their dreams, and their pets. Over the years we have gotten to work with a LOT of our couples’ pets. And we absolutely love it! It probably helps that we’re dog people, and that all of the pets have been dogs. Until we met Alyssa and Joel. 🙂

Alyssa and Joel are two of the most yin-yang people we’ve ever met. This is probably why they’re so good together! Alyssa is very outgoing and talkative, and loves to laugh out loud with everything we’ve got. Joel is very quiet and soft spoken, and you know he thinks something’s funny when he breaks out into a smile.

During their engagement planning meeting, Alyssa mentioned that she wanted to do engagement pictures at their wedding venue. Their venue? Schwinn Produce Farm, where they’ll be getting married in March. It was really important to Alyssa and Joel to have engagement pictures with the beautiful greenery. And the beautiful sunflowers that were about to bloom. And their bunny, Evee.

Yes, a bunny named Evee. We knew that this would be a first, but were so excited to meet yet another loved pet! As it turns out, Evee LOVED the farm so much that as soon as Joel pulled her out of her carrying case, she tried to hop away. After a few minutes of playing keep-away from us all for a few minutes, Joel finally caught on to her and we were able to create some of our favorite images from their session. We’re just really glad that she didn’t make a getaway for all of the trees and tall grass surrounding us!

Since we had only spent a few minutes at Schwinn Produce farm with the sunflowers, we finished Alyssa and Joel’s engagement session up at City Market. This is one of Alyssa’s favorite parts of Kansas City because of all the neat backgrounds and nooks and crannies. We were SO excited that she brought her ballet shoes for a few images as well!!
